CELERA SYSTEMS DOUBLES DOWN ON DATA SECURITY: APPOINTS INDUSTRY VETERAN TO NEWLY-CREATED INFORMATION SECURITY POST

Celera Systems, a leading provider of technology solutions for the financial services industry has announced the appointment of Jeff A. Dart to the company’s newly-created executive-level post of Director of Information Security. Dart, a 15 year veteran of Wells Fargo’s Wisconsin-based mutual fund organization, left his position as Vice President and Head of Data Management at Wells Fargo to join fast-growing Celera at the end of July.

Mike Giunta, a founding partner and Managing Director of Celera describes Dart’s role as “a critical next step in our continual and unrelenting commitment to ensuring that Celera clients enjoy the most secure and sophisticated data protection systems and protocols available. When it comes to data security, technology companies like ours operate in a zero-error, zero-breach environment; we get no points above the line for protecting the business-critical data our clients entrust to us for safekeeping.”

Dart began his financial services career with the Strong Funds organization in 1999, as a team leader and business analyst in the company’s transfer agency organization. Following Strong’s acquisition by Wells Fargo, Dart held successively more senior operations positions; Project Manager of Transfer Agency Operations, Vice President and Manager of Dealer Services, and most recently, Vice President and Head of Data Management.

Director of Technology, and one of the three founding partners of Celera, Kevin Klein, described Jeff Dart’s expertise as “a unique combination of leadership, project management, business analysis, operations, data management and technology; wrapped up in his comprehensive knowledge of mutual fund operations and data management. We’re really fortunate that Jeff quickly appreciated the opportunity of joining our fast-growing, entrepreneurial company. We’re confident Jeff will hit the ground running and make significant contributions to Celera and to our clients. ”

Mike Giunta observed that “Jeff’s impressive track record of managing successful projects that utilize technology to drive efficiencies, automation and accelerated results in a performance-driven, creative team environment will accrue to the benefit of our clients. While Jeff’s job one is to position Celera as a data security leader, he, as is the case with many members of our team, (and as it is in most entrepreneurial companies), will wear two hats. Jeff’s extensive project management experience of high impact technology installations makes him ideally suited to take on a leadership role in our literature fulfillment business where we are experiencing double digit growth.”

Since its founding in 2000, Celera has been recognized as an innovator in information technology solutions for financial services companies: mutual fund and institutional asset managers, insurance companies, retirement plan providers, banks and broker dealers. Celera founded its business 16 years ago when it developed a literature fulfillment software platform in collaboration with Merrill Corporation. Merrill Connect is now the literature fulfillment software of choice for over 4 dozen of the largest annuity and mutual fund distributors in the U.S. Celera’s state of the art data management platform, SalesStation, is built around a powerful data warehouse repository that collects and consolidates daily asset and transaction feeds from over 100 intermediaries, transfer agencies, clearing firms and trading platforms across all products and distribution channels.
